Brad Cohen’s groundbreaking Urtext edition of Georges Bizet’s ‘Les Pêcheurs de Perles’ will receive two new, major productions in 2010.

English National Opera premiered their production at the Coliseum on June 1st 2010, with Tony award-winning Alfie Boe as Nadir, rising star Rory Macdonald on the podium, and acclaimed film maker Penny Woolcock directing. It runs for 11 performances, details of which can be found on the ENO website.

Later in the year, Opernhaus Zürich has announced their production will premiere on September 18th with a distinguished cast, including the young Mexican tenor Javier Camarena as Nadir, Spanish superstar Carlos Álvarez as Zurga, Carlo Rizzi conducting and Jens-Daniel Herzog directing. www.opernhaus.ch

The edition, available exclusively from Edition Peters, has already made a big impression on the opera world, with successful runs in New York, Boston, London and Baugé, and a recording on the Chandos label.
